99% ready : Launching the Co-Programmed Partnership on Photovoltaics

The Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) for the Co-Programmed Partnership on Photovoltaics (EUPI-PV) is in its finalisation phase, featuring around 20 priority topics selected by ETIP PV for inclusion in the upcoming Horizon Europe calls. These topics have been identified based on the ETIP PV x EERA PV SRIA released last summer and cover a diverse range of areas, including PV technologies, digitalisation, manufacturing, social aspects, reliability, and circularity. The calls may take the form of Coordination and Support Actions (CSA), Innovation Actions (IA), or Research and Innovation Actions (RIA).

The topics have been determined by the Co-Programmed Partnership Board (EUPI-PV Board), comprising chairs, representatives from two associations, two industry leaders, and one research institute member from the ETIP PV Steering Committee. The Implementation Working Group and the Steering Committee are actively involved in validating the EUPI-PV SRIA.
The next milestone is the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with the European Commission, set to take place in February.

Steering Commitee met online

The ETIP PV Steering Committee convened in December and January to validate the priority topics for the Co-Programmed Partnership on Photovoltaics, ensuring alignment with the overarching goals of advancing solar energy innovation and deployment. During these meetings, the committee also reviewed the progress of ongoing activities and provided updates on the working groups’ initiatives.
Additionally, they outlined upcoming plans to further strengthen collaboration and drive impactful contributions toward achieving Europe's ambitious solar energy targets. These discussions play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of photovoltaics research and innovation.

Save the date for ETIP PV Conference 2025

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming date for our highly anticipated annual conference on 4 June 2025 at Rue Ravenstein 4, Brussels.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the ETIP PV conference aims to provide a platform for key stakeholders across the solar PV value chain to address the urgent need for innovative solutions to achieve the EU's ambitious 2030 targets: 720 GWdc of PV deployment and 30 GW of PV manufacturing capacity across the entire value chain.
Under the theme, “The urgency of now: Innovation in making deployment and production targets a reality for solar PV”, the event will focus on exploring strategies, technologies, policies, and collaborations necessary to bridge the gap between ambitions and realities, aligning with the Vision for Europe's sustainable energy future.

P2X in Energy Islands Webinar

Following a successful joint ETIP event on P2X, a second P2X webinar has been organised by ETIP PV, ETIP Wind, and ETIP Ocean – this time focusing on energy islands. The webinar’s theme is on deployment, notably “Are energy islands the first place wind, PV, and P2X come together?”.
Don't miss the webinar on February 20th (14:00-15:30 CET).

This event seeks to take a closer look at energy islands, both those in development or those which are up and coming, and to determine whether P2X can be feasibly deployed on an energy islands. In particular, what are the R&D challenges which come from deploying P2X on energy islands?
Have a look on the agenda below.
