Reflecting on ETIP PV Highlights at EU PVSEC 2026

Following an inspiring and productive week at EU PVSEC 2026, ETIP PV looks back on a conference that brought together the European photovoltaic community to exchange knowledge, present the latest research and innovation achievements, and strengthen collaboration across the sector.

Throughout the week, numerous oral and poster presentations showcased the latest results from Horizon Europe projects, demonstrating the impact of strong cooperation between industry, research organisations, policymakers, and other stakeholders. The achievements presented at EU PVSEC 2026 highlighted the value of aligning efforts across Europe's PV ecosystem to accelerate innovation and support the energy transition.

ETIP PV contributed actively to the conference programme through several key activities:

  • Working Group contributions: ETIP PV Working Groups presented the results of their ongoing activities through one plenary presentation, one oral presentation, and two poster contributions, showcasing their work in supporting Europe's photovoltaic innovation ecosystem.
  • ETIP PV Member Reception: Members and stakeholders gathered at the WIP Renewable Energies booth for the traditional ETIP PV Member Reception, providing an opportunity for networking and exchange among the PV community.
  • Parallel Event on PV Funding: ETIP PV organised the parallel event “Making EU and National PV Funding Work Together”, bringing together representatives from industry, research organisations, funding bodies, and policymakers to discuss how European and national funding instruments can be better aligned to support innovation and industrial competitiveness.
  • Recognition of PV excellence: A special highlight was the award of the prestigious Becquerel Prize to ETIP PV Vice-Chair Dr Delfina Muñoz, recognising her outstanding contribution to the advancement of photovoltaics.

Beyond these milestones, the conference provided valuable opportunities to exchange ideas, strengthen partnerships, discuss policy developments, and explore future priorities for the European photovoltaic sector.

During the Closing Session, Technical Programme Chair Robert Kenny highlighted collaboration as a key driver of European PV innovation. This message strongly resonates with initiatives such as EUPI-PV, which promote long-term cooperation, knowledge sharing, and alignment across the photovoltaic value chain.

ETIP PV looks forward to continuing to contribute to future editions of EU PVSEC!
