The Steering Committee met in Brussels
This time, the ETIP PV Steering Committee was meeting in Brussels, kindly hosted in the heart of the European district.
On June 3rd, the hybrid meeting gathered members both online and in person to discuss the latest developments of the ETIP PV platform, from ongoing activities to the update of the ETIP PV Vision and the recent launch of the EUPI-PV initiative in collaboration with the European Commission.

Following the internal discussions, the Steering Committee was honoured to welcome representatives from the European Commission:
-
Maria Getsiou, Senior Expert in the Renewable Energy Sources Unit (DG RTD) and a key liaison between ETIP PV and the Commission,
-
Elisabeth Schellmann (geb. Dubbers), Policy Officer at DG ENER,
-
and Beatrice Coda, Head of Unit for Clean Energy Transitions at DG RTD.
The committee had the opportunity to engage directly with the Commission representatives in an open exchange focused on strategies to strengthen research and innovation in photovoltaics under the upcoming 10th Framework Programme.
Key points discussed included:
-
the importance of strengthening the link between public and private funding, with instruments such as the Innovation Fund facilitating the transition of projects towards market deployment,
-
and the emphasis that industrial policy for PV must combine the “Made in Europe” label with resilience and non-price criteria to ensure the long-term competitiveness of European manufacturing.
