6th General Assembly of the European Photovoltaic Technology Platform - “Benefits of Photovoltaics for Europe’s Energy & Economy”.

In 2011 the main topic on the General Assembly was the important role Photovoltaics (PV) can play in building an environmentally sustainable energy system for Europe as well as at the great economic opportunities associated with large-scale deployment of this technology.

The event, held on 30 June 2011 in Brussels, respected 3 main sessions focused on the following topics:

• THE ROLE OF PV IN THE EUROPEAN ENERGY PORTFOLIO
• THE BENEFITS OF PV
• INDUSTRIAL POLICY FOR A STRONG PV SECTOR IN THE EU

Participants included European stakeholders as personalities from the research institutions and CEOs from Europe’s leading PV companies, as well as Members of the European Parliament and the European Commission.
