Webinar : Power-2-X (P2X): E-fuels from Wind and PV
Ultimately, in an era of abundant and ultra-cheap renewable electricity, P2X will be common practice, but when will that time come? The Impact Assessment accompanying the European Commission’s February Communication “Europe’s 2040 climate target and path to climate neutrality by 2050” points to a need to increase capacity for P2X technologies for the 2030 and 2040 energy targets.
ETIP PV and ETIP Wind are hosting a joint ETIP online event on power-to-x (P2X) to be held 6th November, from 10:30-12 CET. The workshop is a mix of panel discussions and presentations which will examine the feasibility of P2X deployment scenarios and the R&D challenges that wind, PV, grids and hydrogen will need to address to make these ambitious plans a reality.
Topics to be covered include:
- The feasibility and future of P2X in the context of a push today towards greater direct use of electricity
- How suppliers of equipment for P2X are reacting to the climate targets and 2040 scenarios
- How hydrogen will be used for P2X, particularly in e-fuels
- The biggest technical challenges facing designers of the future EU electricity system
ETIP PV - The European Technology & Innovation Platform for Photovoltaics will participate by providing the PV perspective on the feasibility and conditions of P2X, its benefits and challenges, by the speakers: Christian Breyer (LUT University) and Fabrizio Bizzarri (Enel Green Power), members of the Steering Committee.
