Platform on Photovoltaics will take place on  
18 & 19 May, 2017 in Brussels 
 
Conference of the European Technology and Innovation Platform 
will focus on “PV Manufacturing in Europe” 
 
The  annual  meeting  of  the  European  Technology  and  Innovation  Platform  (ETIP)  on 
Photovoltaics wil  take place this year on 18 & 19 May, 2017, at BIP, Rue Royal 2-4, 1000 
Brussels, Belgium.  
 
The 2017 Conference of the European PV Technology & Innovation Platform wil  be the 
right place to confront different visions for the future of the PV manufacturing in Europe. 
With a global PV market that grew tremendously in the past years and reached about 
75 GW in 2016, the place of Europe must be strengthened and redeveloped. This event 
wil  al ow identifying the technological opportunities and the European opportunities for 
local and global manufacturing. 
 
The Steering Committee of the ETIP PV met on January 24 in Brussels invited by the ETIP 
PV Chairman Marko Topič. A major topic of the meeting was the discussion about the 
content of the upcoming ETIP PV Conference in May this year. The conference wil  offer 
the  opportunity  to  join  the  industry  leaders  as  wel   as  top-ranking  scientists,  engineers 
and policy makers to discuss the status and future of “PV Manufacturing in Europe”. 
 
The  ETIP  meeting  included  also  the  review  of  the  strategy  and  corresponding 
implementation plan for research & technology development as wel  as the regulatory 
framework for the deployment of photovoltaic solar energy in Europe.  
 
 
PV  sector,  with  arrangements  for  cooperative  discussions  with  member  states  (MS), 
associated  countries  (AC),  and  the  Commission  services.  Its  main  role  is  to  provide 
consensus-based  strategic  advice  on  al   issues  relevant  to  progressing  research  and 
innovation (R&I) efforts.
